Mashup Reflection

The mashup work did allow me to use my creative ability to create a visual presentation of a hobby that I am interested in. Being able to add images and videos on a grid to my liking made this assignment enjoyable. I found it nice being able to create this collage of something that I enjoy doing every summer. Wakeboarding is a strong passion of mine, so being able to create something fun and appealing like this was worth the time. The advantages of a mashup compared to a written story is that it provides the viewer with more of a visual aspect. The disadvantage of of a mashup is that it does not give the reader/viewer a story line or setting like a story can. I found Datamasher to be a good way to show meaningful information in an easy to read manner. This program was fun to explore around on and see the different facts and ranks of individual states in a variety of categories.
